Upgraded CPU - no DRM music

When I installed Vista, all my music, including DRM material (once licenses
re-downloaded), was playing as it should. However, I have now upgraded my
CPU and find that although my non-DRM music plays as it should, none of my
DRM music plays. Indeed, all I get is a media player error "Windows Media
Player encountered a problem while playing the file. For additional
assistance, click Web Help" with no option to re-download licenses. I was
expecting that I might have to re-download things but I was not expecting
this total impasse.

I have further tested this by trying to re-download DRM material or licenses
but that also gives errors. Even if I try to buy a new DRM track, it does
not download. The aforementioned 'Web Help' refers to sound card errors but
that is not the case here. It also talks about corrupted licenses. I have
therefore looked in the registry identified 'C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\DRM'
in case there were corrupted files but this folder appears to be empty. On
that basis, I cannot see why I cannot download anything (licenses or new
purchases).

Is there any way, without a complete Vista re-install, of getting Media
Player to work as it should?

Re: Upgraded CPU - no DRM music

What error code number does Web Help say you have?
According to WMP's Help:About:Technical Support Information, what Indiv
Version do you have?
