| | Indexing music manually The indexing of music in WMC is an automated process. Is there any way of re-indexing entries manually once they are in WMC? Where is the index held in Windows Explorer? I am able to do this in programs such as iTunes, but can find no way in WMC. Help would be much appreciated. -- Gareth |

| | Re: Indexing music manually Define "indexing of music". I am not familiar with what you're trying to do here. | | Re: Indexing music manually Dale - thanks for getting back to me. By indexing I mean the song titles and artist details. It is possible there may be errors in the information held by WMC or you might wish to change some of the information. This is possible in iTunes, but I cannot see how this is done in WMC. One way would be to find the indexing source itself, possible held somewhere on the C drive, but I cannot track this down. Does that clarify my issue? -- Gareth "Dale" wrote: > Define "indexing of music". | | Re: Indexing music manually If the information on a track or an album is incorrect, you can right-click on the item (album or track) and choose Update Album Info. That will cause WMP to go back to the Microsoft/AMG online CD database and try to identify your tracks. If you still cannot find the correct information, simply edit what it finds or what is in your library. You can use Advanced Tag Editor for that. In the Library view (and not in a playlist), right-click the track that is in error and choose Advanced Tag Editor.
