    MP3 Codecs

Hi, me again, since I'm only running on an 80Gb laptop, I try to save as much
space as possible. I currenty have a handful of MP3s encoded at 320Kbp which
I want to shave down to 192Kbp to save roughly half the space.

I use Microsoft Plus! Digital Media Edition's Audio Converter to do it for me.

Problem is it says it doesn't recognize my MP3 codecs.

    Here are some shots:

Any help is appreciated **cough** Ramesh **cough** =]

    THANX
    Jared

    RE: MP3 Codecs

I don't know this converter in detail - but can you even play those files?
When WMP can play those files it should work with the converter - if this
ain't a problem with the converter under Vista itself =(
WMP would even try to download the right codec. You can try if maybe a
generic codec pack helps (Vista Codec Pack 4.3.7) or try to troubleshoot you
    Mp3-Setup with info from zachd's site: http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html#
A totally different approach would be using another converter; You can try
CDex, DBpower Amp, MMconvert or several others and see if its a general
problem with you system or specific to the converter.
