Vista - Movie Maker Preview not working

Hello everyone, I have seen various postings on this issue but no resolutions
so I would appreciate anyone's help as it is very dissappointing. New
computer and I have been working for a few hours on Movie Maker and it is
just progressively getting worst. At this point there is no preview
available at all while in the timeline mode. However it works fine for
videos and pictures not yet included in the timeline. Also for the first
time, movie maker just crashed.
What is going on? Thank you!

What fault bucket number did you get? This can be found in the Problem
Reports and Solutions center--
