Vista - Audio won't Work with some Video Files

I've been trying to upload some videos from my digital camera and the audio
doesn't seem to upload with them. Audio works with other videos on my
computer, just not the ones that I've uploaded to my computer. I even
uploaded the videos to my other computer and the audio worked just fine.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

I used a memory stick adapter (since my memory card was too small to fit into
the drive), if that helps at all.

What codecs do these files use?
How does playback fail? Do you get an error message?

It sounds like it might be an audio codec problem. That the sound works on
another computer indicates the files are ok. Check the details of the video
mfg and see what audio-codec they encode in, hopefully that will show you
where to download it. Sometimes you can see the codec in the properties of
the file but not always. Hope that helps.

I have the same problem with my DiMage E500 camera. I am unable to hear the
audio from my videos when I view them with VISTA, but I can hear them when I
use Windows XP on another computer.

I'm not sure what codex the others are talking about. If you figured it
out, would you mind elaborating a little bit so I can get mine to work?
