I would try to save pictures and when I tried to save them and then try to
look at them it would tell me "Photo Gallery can't open this picture or
video. This format is not supported or you don't have the lastest updates to
Photo Gallery." What should I do, because I have many family pictures from
websites and I would love to see tham. The only way I can see them is save
them as a backgrond and then move them to Photos. Can somebody PLEASE help me!

SORRY TO SAY I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AND UNLESS YOU ARE A COMPUTER TECHIE YOU
ARE IN DEEP DODO, MICROSOFT RELEASED VISTA TO SOON ON THE PUBLIC WITH NO HELP
FROM THEM. VISTA SUCKS. ITOOK MY COMPUTER BACK AND NOW I AM LOOKING FOR ONE
THAT RUNS XP..

Try to give some more information. When you say you "try to save pictures"
how are you doing that. Do you mean "make a copy" from inside Photo Gallery?
or possibly "Save As" from inside of Paint? Or are you copying files from an
attached camera? or scanner? Does it create a file at all? if so, what
extension does the picture file have?

If its a camera that is copying pictures to the system it could be the
camera saved it in RAW or something that Photogallery can't read.
