Vista - cannot see picture thumbnails

Barb, Thanks for the reply. I replied to this thread 'cause i have exactly the same issue; that is, after installing the lastest version of nero I can no longer see thumbnail images within explorer on Vista Ultimate.

So I appied your related registry fix outlined in the above link, which had no impact, however there was warning message (attached) saying all entries could not be applied. I also tried to apply the reg file in safe mode, however this returned the same message.

do you have a system restore point print to when you installed Nero?
please try that.

try running the reg file from an elevated cmd prompt. please post
the **text** of the exact error message.

What file types can't you see thumbnails for?

It's most important to restore all those "9DBD..." and "031E" registry
entries. Those are the Property Thumbnail Handlers, you like them.
Basically, look at that file. Search for "shellex\{" - all those matches
are the preview handlers. Are those set on your system?

I too have a similar Problem.
I seem to have deleted the thumbnail file..i dont know, i am not an expert
on vista.
can anyone tell me how to get the preview/thumbails back in my computer?
i am using vidows vista professional ona dell latitude laptop.

any help would be highly helpful

I read this post in a hurry so if I missed the obvious please forgive me.
Before applying the registry fix, try..
In any folder click on "tools", then "folder options", then click on the "view" tab and unclick "always show icons and never thumbnails". Hope this helps some of you.

I seem to have deleted the thumbnail file..i dont know, i am not an expert on vista. can anyone tell me how to get the preview/thumbails back in my computer? i am using vidows vista professional ona dell latitude laptop. any help would be highly helpful regards Roshan

dbknox 32bit vista home premuim-SP2 186 posts	Re: cannot see picture thumbnails I read this post in a hurry so if I missed the obvious please forgive me. Before applying the registry fix, try.. In any folder click on "tools", then "folder options", then click on the "view" tab and unclick "always show icons and never thumbnails". Hope this helps some of you.
