When did you rip them and was it on the Vista PC?

If you ripped them on another PC and the default settings of
WMV with copy protection where on then you will have
problems playing them on another PC.

Yeah, I ripped 'em on my Vista PC just a couple days ago.
And then I found out they would not playback at all. All that plays on the
WMP11 are the sample tunes that came installed with WMP11. BTW, I can play
DVD's and CD's thru WMP11...I'm just having problems ripping and playing 'em
back from my library.

Re: WMP11 and Vista Ultimate won't playback purchased "ripped" CD'

Hey I just found out that changing the WMP11 format from WMA files (none of
four types would work) to MP3 files and re-ripping my test CD actually works
and plays now. This can be done by accessing the WMP11 "Rip tab/options" and
changing em' to your liking. However, I have tons of WMA files on WMP11 and
it would take forever to re-rip all my music....so my system tech. also
suggested downloading
WinAmp player and importing all my WMA files from WMP11 into WinAmp (which
BTW is a "freebie") and this worked to perfection. I can now hear, play, and
enjoy
all my WMA files on WinAmp player and forget about WMP11 until Microsoft
comes up with a "patch/fix" for this problem in WMP11. But now that I'm using
WinAmp,
I may not go back to WMP11 since it seems to have tons of options and
goodies too.
I guess time will tell.
