| | WMP hiccups 20 seconds before end of song Why does WMP go into major "hiccups" or skips/distortion exactly 20 seconds before the end of each song played? All these songs worked perfectly on XP's WMP but not on the new OS. And I have the identical problem on another brand new computer (Vista). Both are brand new, current drivers, state of the art. Is this hiccup caused because the system is accessing - or trying to figure out - which song to play next? Quite annoying!! |

| | Re: WMP hiccups 20 seconds before end of song If you have a Sigma Tel audio adapter, as a workaround, right click on the Speaker icon in the Notification Area of the Taskbar, select Playback Devices, highlight the Speakers entry, Enhancements tab, deselect all enhancements. -- I Bleed Blue and Gold GO BEARS! | | Re: WMP hiccups 20 seconds before end of song i got the same problem. this worked, thanks. but still it's crazy, what good will those enhancements be if don't work, it appears across the board, or globe. seems everyone has those problems with sigma tel and WMP11. haven't they tested it before releasing it out?? | | Re: WMP hiccups 20 seconds before end of song It seems that ALL the audio adapter manufacturers are having problems getting fully functional/featured audio driver/applications for Vista. Microsoft completely changed the way audio is handled in Vista. We will just have to be patient. -- I Bleed Blue and Gold GO BEARS!
