Vista - Windows media player show error message and doesnt play

Hi every body,
I have new computer with system Win Vista. I have problem windows media
player. When I want to see some movie, program wrote message "Program stop
working and system windows will close it". during startup. does anybody have
same problem with new computer ?

Go to Control Panel > Problem Reports and Solutions, click on check for new
solutions, after it checks, click View problem history, right click on the
problem and select View problem details, click the Copy to clipboard link at the
bottom of the window and paste into a post to this group. The bucket ID might
give a clue as to what the problem is.

My problem is that everytime i click on wmp a box pops up saying
''windows media player has stop working, windows is checking for a
solution to this problem'' i'v tried restarting my computer, i went to
uninstall programs and i'v tried downloading another one on microsoft
but it hasn't solve anything, please try and help me on this problem.
(i couldn't find the software on uninstall programs/after i download it
says ''there's is a more recent version(11.0.6000.6336) already
installed on your computer. it is not possible to use an older
installation package)'' pls help me out

Had the exact same problem!
Fixed it by plugging in the Vista dvd, chosed to reinstall using the
old preferences, everything is the same, expect WMP 11 actually
WORKS!!!
