I'm having a problem with Media player not starting. I went through the setup
and tried to play a video and it doesn't start at all. I have run Windows
update multiple times. I'm running beta 2 on an Compaq NC6120 laptop. Help....

I've had that happen a few times. Pull up Task Manager (right click on task
bar and select Task Manager or hit Ctl-Alt-Del) and look for wmplayer.exe
and kill the process. The double click on your media file again and it
should load.

That isn't the problem it's not starting at all. There is no sign of it in
Task Manager at all. That is the first place I checked. I'm almost ready to
reload the whole OS.

I had a similar problem, where windows media player didn't open in vista. I
uninstalled and reinstalled it, which solved that problem, but now nothing
plays; whether streamed off urge or preinstalled with vista and WMP 11. Any
suggestions?
Admitadly, windows update advisor told me that my internal sound card would
not be recognized, but I switched over to USB speakers with still no luck.
