    My children want to buy an MP3 and I don't know a lot about them. Doe
    anyone know which MP3 works well with Vista? Are downloads required to get
    it working? Thx L

    Generally all mp3's will play on windows media player. MP3 is a compression
    used on the music to make it a smaller file size - easier for trading on the
    web - but it retains a certain amount of quality.
    If you get an option the higher the bitrate the better the quality of the
    music.

    These are general warnings, not designed to put you off

    Always buy them from reputable stores, as they can come with spyware or
    viruses, particularly if you let them use the file sharing sites.

    Music is copyrighted, so it often comes with DRM, which allows you to listen
    to the music on your pc, but will stop you doing other things with it.
