can't get the 'rip when inserted' to turn off

i've clicked the never option (to rip when inserted). but it still starts
ripping .it's doing this on songs i'm trying to add one at a time.
i put in a disc with 10 songs and it didn't rip automaticly.

Do you have this unselected in both WMP and the system AutoPlay settings?
If it's unchecked in both, this is probably the result of a third party
application *also* deciding to process the AutoInsert Notification and
firing their own secondary AutoPlay.

Speaking for myself only.
See http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html for some helpful WMP info.
