| Guest | animated thumbnails gif as in windows xp I want to view the animated thumbails of animated gif in windows folder as it is in windows xp. It's doesn't possibile that you have removed this function! It is too inconvenient to open windows internet explorer each time! I hope you add this function with a next new update, even though I doubt you listen me..... ---------------- This post is a suggestion for Microsoft, and Microsoft responds to the suggestions with the most votes. | Guest | RE: animated thumbnails gif as in windows xp Windows XP did not have animated file thumbnails. You might have installed a plugin in XP to enable that. | Guest | RE: animated thumbnails gif as in windows xp I'm sorry, you are right but it is a great idea the animated thumbnails; whatever with the viewer of picture and fax it was easier view the animated gif than now. Do you know a plugin to enable animated file thumbnails for vista as you had said? "Ronnievdl" wrote: > Windows XP did not have animated file thumbnails. | Guest | RE: animated thumbnails gif as in windows xp I actually didn’t know there was a tool that enables animated thumbnails. I did a quick search on Google, but did not find anything. Can you install the same plugin as you did in XP? (Although I’m not sure if it works in Vista) If you only want it so you can quickly play animated GIF files, you could try Irfanview. That’s a picture viewer like the viewer in Windows. It’s a bit less user friendly, but can handle a lot more file types, and can play animated GIF files. | Guest | Re: animated thumbnails gif as in windows xp It just seems completely ridiculous to me than in XP Windows Picture and Fax Viewer allowed users to flick through their pictures quickly and easily, and view any animated gifs as they were meant to be, yet a later version of the same program won't let you do the same. I know it is just as simple to open IE to view the files, but I don't want to open each file individually. I want to be able to flick between each one in the same program. It's so stupid. | Guest | Re: animated thumbnails gif as in windows xp As you noted by the lack of functionality, it's not the "same" program - it was a rewrite and unfortunately this particular feature didn't make the initial cut during that rewrite. That team is very aware of your concerns - they simply didn't have infinite resources at the time and so had to make some tough calls. =\ -- Speaking for myself only. | Guest | Re: animated thumbnails gif as in windows xp Windows Photo Gallery (version corresponding to Windows Picture and Fax Viewer in XP) allows you to open any pictures (except gifs), also videos; but to open animated gifs with IE isn't very simple, it is very frustrating. "darkshines" wrote:
