ripping from a mp3 cd

I burned my own cd with mp3 files why didnt windows media player recognize
it for ripping to my pc? and how do I correct this?

Explore the disk and look at the file extensions.
If it's a Music CD with .cda files you should be
able to rip it.

If the files are .mp3 you can just copy them back
to your hard drive.
