Picture Taking and Movie Making

Ok,
So I own a Dell Inspiron 1521 that has a camera included so I am able to
take pictures and make movies. But the oonly problem is that I don't know how
to get to where I am able to take pictures and make a movie.

Can someone take me step-by-step and tell me how to get to where I can take
pictures and make movies please?

While written for a older version the basics are the same.

The one thing that may throw some beginners is as a first step you
need to import so what you want to use in a movie shows on screen.
THEN you drag it to the timeline or storyboard.
