| | digital out put via s/pdif I am using vista to out put to an amp via an x-fi extreme music audio card and having a few problems. 1/ when i use control panel/ sound the only selection i can make is 2 chanel audio, is this all that is available ? or should i see more ? if this is correct can someone tell me how to set up so my amp will use all chanels and not just the fronts? 2/ POWER DVD says my s/pdif is not in use (although i do get 2 chanel to my amp) 3/ Are there any windows additional drivers i need or is there an addon you have to buy to get more than 2 chanels ? Thanks in advance Brian. |

| | Re: digital out put via s/pdif In the Playback window, highlight SPEAKERS, press the Properties button and on the Custom tab, check Enable Digital IO. And on the Advanced tab, set and test the Default Format. Also, with SPEAKERS highlighted press the Configure button to set up and test your speaker setup. Highlight SPDIF and press the Set Default button. Press the Properties button and on the Supported Formats select and test the Encoded formats and Sample Rates. On the Advanced tab set and test the Default Format. Start Orb > All Programs > Creative > Creative Audio Console. Go through all the tabs to set your preferences. Have you downloaded and installed the latest X-Fi drivers. You should uninstall the drivers and the Creative Audio Console before installing the latest SB drivers. -- I Bleed Blue and Gold GO BEARS! | | Re: digital out put via s/pdif Thanks for the info, i have done as you suggested but still only get 2 canel audio through my amp and the only available selection is 5 types of 2 chanel. i have just read that creative cards can only output 2 chanel via s/pdif so maybe i will have to change my audio card.
