    anyone else have this happening?
i opened Windows Media Player and closed it before the the moive was done only to find out
the player was gone from my desktop but i can still hear it playing so i went to task manager
and in (processes) it's still loaded and playing? so i did a end task and rebooted the system
and went in to task manager and it's back again when i try to close it it closes and then
comes right backup ? i checked to see if it loads in the startup but didn't see it here.

Exactly what steps are you taking to closeMP?
If you were playing a DVD with Media Player did you remove the DVD from the
    drive after you closed MP?

Do you get the same result if you select the MP Icon on the upper left and
    select the Close option?
