    uploading video to snapfish

    I am trying to upload video to snapfish.com. My brother has the same camera
    and has no problems. The only difference we can tell is that I am using
    Vista and he is still using XP. The error I am getting is "you can upload
    files of types jpg,jpe,jpeg,zip only". It appears as a Internet Explorer
    box. Is that something I can correct in internet options? If so where? Or
    is it a Vista problem? Help this is driving me crazy!

    If it's video, it's probably a .mov file. (not a jpg, etc.)

    Looks like Snapfish is for photos only.

    If all you want to do is share your files, Mediamax lets you upload and
    store 25 GB's of files.

    Actually it is a mpg file. snapfish is allowing video now. My brother same
    camera uploads his video but I can't upload mine.

    There isn't a setting on my computer some where that might be limiting the
    kind of file I can upload?

    Re: uploading video to snapfish

    To upload non-jpeg files, like mpg, it looks like you have to use the Quick
    Upload software, as per the help (below). I am not going to download it to
    test it.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Help - Digital Photo File Types
    Depending on the upload method you use, you can copy the following types of
    digital photos from your computer to your online account:
    QuickUpload Method
    JPEG (.jpg, .jpeg, .jpe)
    Windows Bitmap (.bmp)
    ZIP (.zip consisting of JPEG )
    Videos must be in either MOV, AVI, 3gp or MPG (motion jpeg) format.
    Any digital photo or video you upload must have an ending that matches one
    of the above file types (e.g. niagarafalls.jpg, DC00145.tif) and regardless
    of which type of file it is, the copy of it that you upload will be
    converted to JPEG format before it's added to your account. When you upload
    any digital photo to your online account, only a copy of it is placed in
    your account. The original digital photo file remains unchanged on your
    computer.
    One-by-One Upload Method
    JPEG (.jpg, .jpeg, .jpe) ZIP (.zip consisting of JPEG images )
    JPEG is the only file format accepted for upload when you use the One-by-One
    Upload Method. Any digital photo file you upload must end with .jpg, .jpeg,
    or.jpe (e.g. niagarafalls.jpg, DC0023.jpe).You can not upload videos with
    the one-by-one upload method; you must use the QuickUpload method.
    When you upload a digital photo to your online account, only a copy of it is
    placed in your account. The original digital photo file remains unchanged on
    your computer.
    Tip: If you cannot see the last letters of your digital photo files, it
    means that your computer is not set to display them. To change this setting,
    return to your computer's desktop and double click on the "My Computer"
    icon. Once the My Computer window is open, click on the "Tools" menu and
    choose "Folder Options". Click on the "View" tab at the top of the window.
    You'll see a list of items with circles or boxes next to them. Find the box
    that is labeled "Hide file extensions for known file types". Make sure this
    box is NOT checked. If it has a checkmark in it, click once in the box to
    remove it. Click the OK button at the bottom to confirm your change. You
    should now see the file extensions, or the letters of your filenames after
    the "." when you are locating them on your computer.
    Thanks Dave. I also contacted snapfish customer service. They confirmed you
    can only upload jpg even in a zip file.
    Did they say anything about the Quick Upload software?
    I take it from the website, that with it, you can upload .mpg files.
    How did you get a phone number for Snapfish? It says it will upload MOV, AVI
    and MPG video formats. I also can't find the Quick Upload Software to be
    able to use it.
