Vista - Windows media player error message

I have just received a new computer with Vista Home Premium and have now got
3GB RAM inserted.
When ever I try to run a video in Windows Media player 11 or Real player 11
I get the following window come up
"EVR Full Screen Windows - Bad Image"
with the following error message
"Exception Processing Message 0xc000007b Parameters 0x7592023c 0x7592023c
0x7592023c 0x7592023c"
If I continue to press OK on this for about 10/15 goes, it disappears and
the video starts.
Can anyone advise me of a solution to this?

Re: Vista - Windows media player error message

C:\Windows\System32\evr.dll is a Vista system file for "Enhanced Video
Renderer DLL". A bad image error means the file may be corrupt or damaged.
Try this. Go to Start Menu\Programs\Accessories, and right-click Command
Prompt. Choose Run as Administrator. At the Prompt, Copy and Paste this:

sfc /SCANFILE="C:\Windows\System32\evr.dll"

Press Enter. What does Windows Resource Protection report?

Re: Vista - Windows media player error message

I have done as suggested and it reported that it did not find any integrity
violations

Re: Vista - Windows media player error message

Thank you for that but last night I realised that the only thing I had
changed on my PC when this problem occurred was to download Real Player 11.
So I uninstalled it and hey presto the problem seems to have been solved,
everything is working normally, I suspect the version I downloaded may have
been corrupted.
Thank you both for you help in this matter It has been an experience in
using this form of help and it is good to know there are people out there
willing to offer help
Cheers

Re: Vista - Windows media player error message

I was receiving the same message; only thing I changed on my computer was
installing latest Real Player 11; I had created a restore point before
installing it and didn't get the error before the new install. I used my
restore point and eliminated the newest install of Real Player, computer
restarted...my system worked fine, no more error messages. Reading other
posts it seems the Real Player is the culprit when using Vista. Hope this
helps.

Re: Vista - Windows media player error message

Hi - this is not the same problem and I apologize for writing in here. I was
unable to find the correct thread, ANDt the new post button is not working!

Here is the deal:
I have Vista home premium media player 11.

I am trying to copy audio cassettes to my pc and then burn them to cds.
I have figured most of it out - <g> but after the files are created into
wave files, and i try to burn a cd with multiple files from multiple
cassettes (as they are stored on my pc in very large files), there is an
error button - a red X - on most of the song files in the list of files to be
burned. Media player will not burn or copy any of these files with the red
x's on them. The details say something about media player does not know how
long the files are and cannot determine if the files will fit on a cd. So
they cannot be burned.

Where do I get help on this and how do i tell media player how large
(usually in min:sec) the files are so i can get on with this project? I just
want to take the wave files saved and burn them on to a cd so i can delete
them from my pc and play them in my car.

Thanks so much!

Debbie
