Cannot burn multiple recorded TV shows to DVD anymore in Media Cen

    Hi,
A couple of months ago I used to be able to generate DVDs from multiple
recorder tv shows even when it needed to compress them onto the disc by
reducing the quality. I recently tried this again and now it aborts after a
couple of minutes with 'error during DVD creation'. By looking at the log
file it seems to think it doesn't have the space but the total time of the 2
shows is 105mons. The previous ones I have done were 3 x 50minutes with no
    problem.
The last part of the log file is as follows:

    [16:52:14] ..> SonicDiscWriter.Burn calling burner.BeginBurn() for disc
    titled Movies
    [16:52:14] OnMessage: [copying %0] #-10002

What you will see at 16:56:03 is that it aborts thinking the media is full.
Earlier in the log it goes through a process of checking files sizes and
setting flags such as 'fittodisc=TRUE'. However, further down it talks about
re-adding the files as the 'order is important' so it clears the current list
and re-adds the files. It then goes on to burn. My guess is that for some
reason it seems to have forgotten that it needs to 'fit to disc' and tries to
fit them at original size. Either this or it simply mis-calculates or maybe
mis-reads the disc size. This appears to be a straight bug in its logic but
as it used to work could this be down to an upgrade being applied. I came
across a couple of compatibility updates which others have found helped to
return some functionality which broke when they was applied.
Does anyone know of a known problem with the sonic encoder when trying to
compress or if an update has introduce a problem with this functionality.

    System is -
    Asus M2NPV-VM motherboard
    Athlon 64 X2 5200+
    2GB DDR2 6400 memory
    Hauppauge Nove -t -500 (drivers 3.1g)
Vista x64 Ultimate (all latest updates)
    Onboard 6150 (drivers 6222)

    Thanks

    Phil

Re: Cannot burn multiple recorded TV shows to DVD anymore in Media Cen

I am having this exact same problem. It seems to indicate the media is full in the sonic log file but the DVD is blank and my drive has tons of free space. The Burn video dvd process starts hits 1% and within less than a minute ejects the DVD. Has anyone found a solution to this or could share any ideas?
