| | Is Media Center Modal? Really strange. I setup 2 users on my Vista Ultimate. One has administrative rights, the other a standard user. I also have 2 monitors, a 17" for my Mac and a Sharp Aquos 52" So naturally I will be watching the Media Center on my Sharp Aquos. While my son, the standard user was logged on, I noted that he was able to move the mouse cursor across both monitors while Media Center was on. I distinctly remembered that I didn't like how Media Center seemed 'Modal' while I was logged on earlier with my Admin account. I couldn't use my desktop while watching a movie unless I first shut off Media Center. I thought I had setup the media center the same on both of the users and I thought that his 'Standard' account had some other setting that allowed me to use the desktop on Vista while watching a movie - This is desireable. Turns out, it was just a fluke, because I went to see what the settings were, I found no difference and then when I tried moving the mouse again between both monitors on his account again, it acted just like my Admin account - which apparently isolates me from using the desktop on the Mac Monitor, while running Media Center on my Sharp Aquos. Was it just a coincidence, or is there a way or setting that will allow me use of my desktop while Media Center is running? It's nice to be able to do work on one monitor while the family watches a Movie in the other. |

| | Re: Is Media Center Modal? If you run Media Center on the display that is not your main window, then you can hit your windows key to activate the task bar on the display that Media Center is not playing on and use your computer while Media Center is playing in full screen mode on your other display. That is what I am doing right now, typing this message while Media Center is running in full screen mode on my other monitor.
