Windows Media Center without a remote?

I recently bought a Dell with a TV Tuner card, but I opted not to get a
remote. Now I am having trouble setting up my TV, because I I do not have an
IR Receiver. Is there a way to watch and record TV without having the remote
and IR Receiver?

Re: Windows Media Center without a remote?

Assuming that you are trying to feed the TV card from a STB I suggest that
you connect the STB to the tuner card using the RF output on channel 3 and
tell MC that you are using an antenna and do not use the EPG. You can then
use your normal remote for your STB to change the channel and always watch
channel 3 in MC.
This will be a real nuisance but will save you the couple of dollars for a
MC IR receiver.
