    Media Player cannot Access Files

I loaded my media files on an XP computer on DVDs and copied them to my new
Vista computer. When I try to play WMV files I get the following message from
    Media Player:
    **************
Windows Media Player cannot access the file. The file might be in use, you
might not have access to the computer where the file is stored, or your proxy
    settings might not be correct
    **************

The files will play in the Windows Media Center but not in Media Player.
BTW I am signed in as Administrator.

    Thank you

Have you right clicked on the files > Properties > Security tab, and taken
ownership of the files and make sure your account has full permissions?

Yes, I have tried that and I am the owner and have "full control" of the files.

It would seem to me that since they will work when launched from the Media
Center but will not play in the Media Player that it is a problem in Media
    Player.
