| | Wireless network signal problems I could use some help here. I have a dual boot computer. Had XP Pro installed for last few years, added a hard drive and installed Vista Home Premium, no issues there. My problem lies in when I boot to Vista, the signal strength of my wireless network is very low, usually 1-11 Mbps. When I boot to XP Pro, the signal is 48-54 Mbps. I am using all the same hardware, have installed all the lastest drivers from Linksys, but no change. I talked to Linksys support and thet say it is something in Vista causing the problem. I have tried everything I can think of with no luck. if anybody can help me with this issue, that would be great. Thanx....AC |

| | Re: Wireless network signal problems are you using an XP driver or a Vista driver on Vista? which driver exactly? posting the TEXT output of ipconfig /all from an elevated command prompt may help. | | Re: Wireless network signal problems I am using the XP driver in XP and the Vista driver in Vista. Both came straight from Linksys. The XP driver version is 2.0.2.0 dated 4/13/05 and the Vista driver is version 3.0.2.0 dated 12/27/06. Thanx for the info. Any other ideas?....AC "Barb Bowman" wrote: Quote: > are you using an XP driver or a Vista driver on Vista? which driver > exactly? > > posting the TEXT output of > > ipconfig /all > > from an elevated command prompt may help. > > On Fri, 2 Nov 2007 13:48:11 -0700, az_golfer > <azgolfer@xxxxxx> wrote: > Quote: > >Not the problem, have tried all the channels available, no differance. | | Re: Wireless network signal problems try updating the driver from device manager, update driver. the newest driver may not necessarily be from Linksys. I'd also unbind/uncheck IPv6. XP and Vista report the link speed differently. the Linksys utility reports differently that Windows native tools. If you transfer the same file from each OS, how long does it take?
