Losing DNS

Using a Netgear WGT624 with Comcast. Windows Vista works fine for about 24
hours, then loses it's DNS. I can ping my router 192.168.0.1 and also ping
any other machine on my network, but cannot browse to anything with a URL.
All the other computers continue to work fine.

Another strange thing. I assigned IP's by MAC address with the router.
Windows Vista is ignoring the settings and just getting the first available
address. My setup worked fine with all my computers XP

This even happened while logged onto my work computer - I didn't lose that
connection, but still could no longer browse the internet or ping anything
that requires DNS to be working...

Any ideas?

RE: Losing DNS

First thing to try would be to clear the DNScache.
In a cmd prompt type in ipconfig /flushdns
Reboot and test.
A question. Can you contact your other pc's by computer name? Such as ping
pete ? (Used pete as a compter name...replace pete with an actual computer
name.

Also, try to ping the local computer by computer name to see if its local or
within the network scope.
