Networking "self-destructs" after joining Windows 2003 Domain

- After joining the Win2K3 domain, Vista still OK after the first reboot,
but after a subsequent shutdown/restart, the following happens:
* DHCP Client service shuts down with a 1004 Access is denied error.
* No IP address is leased from the DHCP server (since no DHCP Client
service)

Additional information:

- In addition to the DHCP Client not starting, the following "automatic"
startup services are failing as well:

* Diagnostic Policy Service

Re: Networking "self-destructs" after joining Windows 2003 Domain

1. Check the group policy.check
2. Make sure dependency services are running.
3. From another web site, this solved the problem.

Local setting may be overwritten by group policy. You may have to do
something like this:

Create a New group policy on the Ou where the server(s) resides.

Configure the group policy to apply only to the w2k3 ie adding machine
account as
the only computer that has read and apply for the policy.

Add two registry keys to set permissions on.

dhcp and tcp

hklm\system\ccs\services\tcp
in the policy it add defaults ie administrators, system, creator owner.
add network service full control

hklm\system\ccs\services\dhcp
in the policy it add defaults ie administrators, system, creator owner. we
add network service full control

gpupdate /force
