Vista - [x64] Media Sharing not working even though it's on

First off, sorry if this is the wrong section but this section seems more closely related to my issue.

Anyways, I seem to be having some issues getting my Media Sharing working and I'm not sure when it started happening. I can't even get Windows Media Center to connect to my computer and it worked plenty of times before.

I open WMP11 and go into the Media Sharing options and I get an error messaging say, "Media sharing is currently disabled, either because the sharing service is no longer running or your firewall settings have changed. To restart sharing you must first confirm your sharing settings."

Looking around on Google I've found one solution (located here) and now I don't get that error message but I am still unable to connect to my computer via the media sharing, and I still get another message from within the media sharing options saying, "Sharing is disabled because a network connection was not found. Check your network connection or settings" which I do find it strikingly odd since I am connected.

Worst part about it, when I click the "Networking..." button, WMP11 crashes instantly.

I can't do a system restore because, like I said, I don't know how long this actually stopped working and I don't want to just start choosing random restore points in point blank.

Any suggestions? I know another solution would be to do a repair install but I'd like to try to avoid going through the hassle, if you know if the install of SP1 would probably fix the issue I could just hold off until then as well.

Additional system specs that you might find useful:

OS: Windows Vista Ultimate x64
RAM: 8 GB
Motherboard: it's an Evga type motherboard for AMD processors
Eth: 2 on board NICs, one of which is currently disabled, both an nVidia nForce Networking Controller.

Anyways, if you read through the post, I've read and tried what you've just posted and it only removed the error message that prompt up but doesn't let me actually connect to any shares still as it still shows as not being able to find a network connection.

I've been trying to help so many people with this issue that I must have mixed up solutions.

I'm just waiting for SP1 to be release to the general public right now unless there's a quick fix to fix this issue :3

I also have this problem, and tryed the blog site but didn't work either, been searching all over google for an answer, bookmarked this page

werid now its working, but my wired internet is not workig :-P oh well gonna buy a wireless adapter for it
