d-link card, packet delay

hey,
I'm currently using a d-link network card (G510) with Windows Vista
Ultimate, i am on a wireless network and i connect to a router.

The issue I'm having is that the connection sets up fine and i can use
everything however there seems to be random packet delay/loss. I had this
same issue before i upgraded from xp to Vista the solution was to use the
RaLink drivers instead of the default d-link ones as they make the chipsets,
this solved the problem in xp and there was no more loss.

However i upgraded to Vista and I've tried the vista compatible d-link ones
and the ralink ones but i have the same issue with both - packets are still
lost/delayed. i know this is the case because when I'm online gaming WoW, CSS
etc they randomly pause for a few seconds then carry on. If i open command
prompt and ping my router (ping -n 100 <ip>) it ticks along fine with times
of 1-3ms then there will be one of around 2000ms then it comes back down
again.

has anybody else had this issue? and if anyone could help i would greatly
appreciate it! thanks
