Automatic wireless reconnection after Vista restart

Hi, Helping a friend setup a home network.

Environment:
1. New Belkin N Wireless router (F5D8233-4) set to:
Authentication: WPA-PSK + WPA2 + PSK
Encryption: TKIP + AES
Unique SSID and pre-shared key entered
2. New HP Pavilion DV6000 laptop running Vista Premium. Built-in 'G'
wireless adapter (Atheros). The driver is the latest version.
3. Using the regular Vista network setup tools, a stable wireless
connection can be established with the configuration described above.

Problem:
1. The wireless connection to the private home network fails to
automatically re-connect following a Vista restart.
2. The wireless connection can be successfully re-established by
disconnecting from the private home network followed by a 'connect' to the
same private network. This process does not require entry of the pre-shared
key.

Thanx, Tom Walter

Re: Automatic wireless reconnection after Vista restart

Hi Barb, In response. When it fails, the notebook is attempting to connect
to a public network. When compared to a good, manually-set connection, the
router DNS data (among other items) is missing.

Re: Automatic wireless reconnection after Vista restart

first, unbind IPv6
http://digitalmediaphile.wordpress.c...windows-vista/

if that alone does not fix you up, the next step is
