Problem accessing files on Vista PC

Hi

I have twp PC's a Vista Ultimate with two drives and XP Pro with two hard
drives.

I can access the files on the XP PC from the Vista PC, and I can access the
files on the second drive (D: Drive)
on the Vista PC from the XP{ PC.
BUT I cannot access the files on the C: Drive of the Vista PC from the XP
PC.

When I look into the properties dialogue box for each drive on the Vista PC
I see differences in the security options, where on the D: Drive I get
"Everybody" as the Group/user name but for the C: Drive I get "Authenticated
users".

As far as I can tell I set both up the same.

Any ideas what I need to do to fix this problem?

thanks

Daniel

Re: Problem accessing files on Vista PC

Hi
Every body does not mean every body on the Network (I.a. other computers
too) but every one that is allowed on the Vista computer.
So make sure that the XP computer user is allowed.

Have a read of the above link re Vista File and Printer Sharing.

Permissions/Share info is there as well.

Re: Problem accessing files on Vista PC

Thanks

that is the document I used to set it up, it seems to need a password to get
into the shared folder, the C: drive.

I seemed to get around that and it worked for the D: drive but not the C:
drive.

I will have another go at it.

regards

Daniel NSW- Australia, wish I was in Qld.
