| | Disabling Internet Access Functionality only from a Router I have a small office with two Toshiba M205-S4806 laptops w/Vista Home Premium, two HP LaserJet 2605dn printers, Netgear WNR854T Wireless Router, and WiFi Internet Access Only. The two laptops and printers are connected to the four available LAN ports on the router. The wireless functionality of the router is not being used. The WAN/Internet port on the router has no connection. When the Toshiba laptop is not connected to the router via a RJ45 LAN cable, Internet Explorer connects to the Internet via the internal WiFi capability. However, when the RJ45 LAN cable is connected to the router, the laptop automatically tries to complete the connection through the router. I need to use the wired connections for file sharing and network printing but want the Internet connection via the wireless WiFi. Is this a MS Vista setting, Netgear Router setting, or Toshiba hardware/networking setting? |
