    Connecting to VPN and internet

Please help. I am new to this and having issues! I am logging into a VPN
and then using a remote desktop to access pc at work. When I am logged into
the VPN I can no longer access the internet on my PC. I am running Windows
    Vista Business.

Its the split tunnel issue. See this page for some information including
    security implications enabling/disabling this...

    http://www.microsoft.com/technet/com...uy/cg1003.mspx

So it depends on what VPN your using....

With some VPNs, ie. OpenVPN for example, split tunneling can be
enabled/disabled on the server side and the client has no control. I believe
Cisco also is configured server side so the client has no control.

Others, ie. MS PPTP VPN for example, can be configured client side.
