Shared folder slow to open

Having an issue that is driving me mad. On the new Vista Laptop we have with
Vista business connected to a 2003 Server R2 the shared folder with the
website in it 5000+ picture files takes about a minutes to open every single
time. If we access it on the Windows XP machines it works straight away so I
assume this is a vista issue anyone come across it or have an answer

RE: Shared folder slow to open

I hear you! 2003SrvSP2 with XP/Vista clients. Access to network shares have
slow response times. Tweaking the settings of the TCP Auto-Tuning have helped
some, but not all, users.

RE: Shared folder slow to open

Hi,

Thanks for the response. Not sure what you mean by TCP tuner not come across
that before. I have tried disabling offline files and a manual IP and DHCP as
well. I have also given the user full permissions but still the same.

RE: Shared folder slow to open

RE: Shared folder slow to open

Have you tried disabling autotuning (from the client computer) with the
"netsh" command switch?
