Going Wired kills Wireless...have to change SSID to fix

Using Vista Home Premium on a Compaq Presario V6210US and a Netgear N Router.
I usually connect wirelessly, but wanted to connect to my XBox 360 for media
center so I connected an ethernet cable to be directly into the router for
faster connection. Now after several reboots and even deleting the SSID of
my home router, it basically fails to connect. Says it's a low signal. The
last time this happened, I changed the SSID and it fixed the problem
completely. We have the same router at work and I plugged in once and I had
to do it there too. My wife though with XP HOME has no problems at all. She
doesn't have the slightest difficulty with the network whether wired or
wireless. Anyone heard of this problem with Vista, the Compaq Presarios, or
the Netgear Router?

Re: Going Wired kills Wireless...have to change SSID to fix

Hi
I am sorry but your explanation to what you are doing, and how you are
connecting the systems is Not clear.
There is No relations between SSID and wire connections.
If your are complaining that your Wireless Compaq does not work after you
disconnected the X-Box and any cables and returned to normal Network
connections, then you should check the Wireless setting of your Compaq
nothing should change in the Router if you connect or disconnect network
Device to and from it. http://www.ezlan.net/wireless.html
Otherwise explain precisely what and how is connected to what.
