| | New Network Profile created on Every Connection... I have an annoying installation problem with a USB Broadband Modem under Vista (Model: ZTE MF-622) The modem installed itself OK, including it's own software control panel, but everytime I click "Connect" to connect to the ISP ('3' Network in the UK), Vista detects a totally new network, and pops up the "New Network Connection" dialog to select a location for the new connection. I have turned off the notification of new networks, but it still creates a new connection profile everytime I connect. I now have '3', '3 2', '3 3', '3 4', '3 5', '3 6' and I'm still counting..... How do I stop this behaviour before my Registry completely fills up with Network Profile Entries? |

| Vista Home Premium 64 Bit | Re: New Network Profile created on Every Connection... I have this same problem with my Alltel USB broadband modem. Every time it is removed and reconnected it creates another network connection. I am not in the 60's now, what is the long term effect of this on my computer? Can the network connection count be reset? |

| | Re: New Network Profile created on Every Connection... Hi Yap, this is one of the trepanation of USB Modems. I usually recommend Not to use them. However you should No that the Counter Numbers meaningless, it does not mean that you actually have to many connectors it is just a ID number. Jack (MS, MVP-Networking).
