| | New Problem - Can not connect to specific sites This problem just started about a week or two ago. I can not connect to www.ea.com or www.adultswim.com. I can ping www.ea.com, but not www.adultswim.com. They will not even work if I type in their IP addresses directly. I have tried disabling, even uninstalling my firewall software (OneCare) and this had no effect. I tried "ipconfig /flushdns", no effect. I tried clearing all cache and history, no effect. The strangest thing, is that this happens to both of my networked PCs (Vista Ultimate SP1 x64 and Vista Ultimate x86), but it does not happen to the nintendo Wii. The Wii can connect to both of these sites perfectly. Only the PCs can not. What the heck? Any suggestions>? |

| | Re: New Problem - Can not connect to specific sites I just want to view the websites, I don't care about pinging them. I can't even view the pages through a web browser. - John "WayneO" <weoliveii@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:e4Ylo2$gIHA.1132@xxxxxx Quote: > Some networks simply don't allow for ICMP request to be made to their > network. > > "John Adams" <seamus@xxxxxx> wrote in message > news:55CEFA7A-6114-4A9F-AFCE-46FA8429792E@xxxxxx Quote: >> This problem just started about a week or two ago. >> >> I can not connect to www.ea.com or www.adultswim.com. | | Re: New Problem - Can not connect to specific sites I figured it out! I had enabled "ecn" on both of my vista desktop machines and this was causing the problem. I guess the servers on those two machines don't support ecn and dropped the packets. I disabled ecn on one of my machines and voila, suddenly all the sites worked again. Too bad, though. Ecn is a great feature in concept. - John "John Adams" <seamus@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:55CEFA7A-6114-4A9F-AFCE-46FA8429792E@xxxxxx Quote: > This problem just started about a week or two ago. > > I can not connect to www.ea.com or www.adultswim.com.
