LAN connection with SP1 not stable.

Hallo together!

After install of Vista SP1 the LAN network connection is not stable

All 10-20 seconds the LAN network connection break down for 2 seconds!
And the orange LAN port led flicker!

My configuration:
-Vista Ultimate 32 with all updates.
-Bitdefender Internetsecurity 2008 with all updates.
-Asus P4C800 E Deluxe Mainboard
-Onboard Intel Pro1000CT network
-Intel Pentium4 3,06 Northwood
-3GB Ram
-ATI 2600XT
-Netgear GS608 Switch

After restore from a backup Vista without SP1 the network works
smoothly with 1000MBit

Has anybody an idee?

Best regards, Thorsten

You are not alone. I'm having the same issue.

My Configuration
- Windows Vista SP1 32 bit.
- Asus P4C800 E Deluxe Mother Board
- Intel 3.4 Ghz Pentium 4
- OnBoard Intel Pro1000CT NIC
- 1.5 GB RAM
- Nvidia GeForce 6800GT Video Card
- Dlink 1Gbit Switch (Don't remember the model).
- SoundBlaster Live

The problem only seems to manifest itself when I'm using Internet
Explorer. My other Internet applications run with no problems if IE
is closed.

Neither Asus nor Intel seem to have Vista drivers for this NIC. I
seem to remember having to install the XP drivers to get it to work.
I'm going to try re-installing the NIC drivers. If that fails I'm
going to try digging up my spare Netgear NIC over the weekend to see
if it corrects the problem.

Hmm... I'm not running BitDefender or Norton. Although reinstalling
the NIC drivers seems to have solved the problem for now. I'm
probably still going to install a Vista compliant NIC this weekend.
I'm glad you got your system running properly too.
