XP computer's printers. But you don't have to run the Network Setup Wizard. You can make all of XP's network settings (including printer sharing) manually, without running the Wizard. -- Best Wishes, Steve Winograd, MS-MVP (Windows Networking) Please post any reply as a follow-up message in the news group for everyone to see. Then, open Vista's Printer folder and drag the desired printer into it from the XP window. If it asks for a driver program, go to Epson's web site and download it. BTW, I use Start > Network to view other computers. That takes fewer clicks than using the Network Map. -- Best Wishes, Steve Winograd, MS-MVP (Windows Networking) Please post any reply as a follow-up message in the news group for everyone to see. | Guest | Re: Vista notebook cannot print on XP Shared printer I did try to open the Network Map on my Vista notebook. I can see my XP Desktop connecting the network, but I cannot see any printer connecting the XP Desktop in the Network Map. I use to mouse cursor to point the XP Desktop, and I try to right click to get the information of the XP Desktop, I was not able to do so. The right click menu just did not appear. | Guest | Re: Vista notebook cannot print on XP Shared printer Finally I solve the problem by uninstall the Norton Internet Security. After I uninstall the Norton, I can see the network printer in the Network Map. Now I installed Trend Internet Security in my Vista Notebook and seems do not have any problem. I was getting an error before because it said that their wasn't enough resources on the server or something like that. I increased the IRPStackSize in the registry, and moved the paging file to another drive because the C Drive was getting full. This allowed me to access the shared drives and printer on the xp machine from the vista machine. I was able to install the printer, but am unable to print to it from the Vista machine. The printer is an HP Deskjet 960c. I tried test pages from both machines. It worked from the XP machine, but not Vista. Any suggestions? |
