Connecting a usb 720 modem

I',m trying to connect to a verizon usb 720 modem using their vzAccess
software. I use ths software successfully on my laptop with the modem and
the xp operating system. During the activation I get an error code 624 Cannot
connect to modem. An hour of discussion resulted in the tech getting the
modem to work with a connection in the network and sharing center. The
verizon tech told me the problem is in the remote access services (RAF)
settings. Can someone help me
