| | Connect to a Vista PC using Windows Mobile 2003 I have an HP Ipaq rx3115 running Windows Mobile 2003 that I want to map a network path to my Windows VISTA PC in order to use the attached printer. My network is comprised of 4 pc's, 2 running Windows Vista Business and 2 running WindowsXP w/SP2. Using "File Explorer" on the Ipaq I can map a path to each of the XP pc's with no problems, and access any of the shared folders and files, however I get the message "The network path was not found." when I try to connect to either of the Vista pc's. My DOS use of "Net View" shows me all the correct naming conventions, so I know I'm typing them in correctly. The printer is physically attached to one of my Vista pc's. There must be something missing either from my Ipaq, or something that needs to be installed on the Vista pc's to allow my Ipaq to connect to them? Any help will be appreciated. -- Thanks, Bill |

| | Re: Connect to a Vista PC using Windows Mobile 2003 Hey there Bill, I think this is an issue with Vistas Password protected sharing... I have a Dell Axim x51 and I have recently found that I cannot connect to my new vista box with password protected sharing-however i can connect to my XP machine with it no sweat. Weird...you could allow a guest to access the folder if the data is ok to be shared? -- Patrick Squire http://www.msblog.org "Bill" <Bill@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:1866A4F1-49B3-45CC-BFCB-46628230A2C1@xxxxxx Quote: >I have an HP Ipaq rx3115 running Windows Mobile 2003 that I want to map a > network path to my Windows VISTA PC in order to use the attached printer. > My > network is comprised of 4 pc's, 2 running Windows Vista Business and 2 > running WindowsXP w/SP2.
