networking 2 vista machines

2 Vista SP1 machines. G1 and T1 names

I can view view shares and ping T1 from G1 but from T1 I don't see G1 in
network applet and I can't ping G1 but G1 can reach the web and ping the
internal Linksys router. Both machines have just been reloaded in the last
month. I have even gone as far as to enable to host file on both machines
and static ips.

- Firewall is not on
- Network discovery is on
- file sharing is on

This is driving me crazy. It is almost like the router is blocking traffic
from G1 to the rest of the home network???

See if the router has "isolation mode". What antivirus protection do you use?

Is NetBT Enabled consistently?

I have the probably one of the most common routers Linksys wrt54g. Before
these 2 Vista machine were installed there were 2 XP boxes existing fine for
several years.

No antivirus running. NetBT is enabled.

OK, time to diagnose the problem. Let's look at logs from "browstat status",
"ipconfig /all", "net config server", and "net config workstation", from each
computer. Read this article, and linked articles, and follow instructions
precisely (Download browstat, and run everything in Administrator mode):
