    I used to with Beta 2 (Build 5384) .

Am I doing something wrong and mostly can anyone suggest a fix ?

    Hello,

    Please try this:

    - Make sure you have file sharing and network discovery turned on from
Control Panel -> Network and Internet -> Network and Sharing Center.

    Also, try this:

    - Click Start
    - Click Control Panel
    - Click System and Maintenance
    - Click Administrative Tools
    - Double-Click Local Security Policy
    - In the left pane, click the triangle next to Local Policy
    - In the left pane, click Security Options
    - In the right pane near the bottom, double-click "Network security: LAN
    manager authentication level"
    - Click the drop-down box, and click "Send LM & NTLM - use NTLMv2 session
    security if negotiated"
    - Click OK

    Thanks for your answer.

I did what you suggested and now, I can see and browse files on my mac from
Vista but when I try it the other way around, I get the following error
    message:

"Shortcut can not be opened as the original element can not be found". I,
then, have the choice to delete or correct the shortcut. The error message
is in French and I have tried to translate it, the precise way I can.

    Re: Vista and Macs

I have been having similar problems. The security policy made it possible to
    share files, but...

FROM VISTA: The Mac does not show up in the Network explorer window or
behind the Browse button in the Map Network Drive dialog. (In fact, the
workgroup name doesn't show up there either.) I can nonetheless map a folder
on the Mac by typing the full path to the folder (eg \\mac\docs) and
    providing account and password.

FROM MAC: The Vista machine shows up on Network in the Finder, shares are
all listed, and everything works great.
