Can't change my TCP/IP settings

I'm getting limited or no connectivity to my network in Windows Vista RC1
build 5600. To fix this, I have to configure my TCP/IP settings the way my
ISP told me (with a specific IP address and subnet).

I go to "manage network connections", right click my LAN connection (which
has limited or no connectivity) and select properties. Then I click on TCP/IP
v4 but I can't click properties to get access to the TCP/IP settings (As told
to do in Help and Support) the properties button for TCP/IP v4 is grayed
out!! Please HELP!
