Is my method of File Sharing good...?

Hi,

I am keeping all my files on non-OS drives. I am making these drives into network drives so that people i know can access them. I am doing this so that people can access these drives in media center. My thinking is that if i have them on drives instead of "Public" folders, users can copy files, download files using windows explorer, and play files using media center. Is this a good way to do things?

I have setup "read" permissions only. I only want people to be able to copy files to and from, but not modify files already in the folders. I only see "Full", "Change" and "read" permissions in my share options. Which permissions should i set in order to allow people to only copy to and from, but not delete?

Also how do i protect my printers from being deleted from the network? I have looked at properties but do not see any settings for permissions...

Thanks.
