My husband has a Dell laptop with Vista and I have a Dell XP PC - we have shared external HD's and when trying to burn the folders to DVD on his laptop it is deleting the files in the folders - and leaving the folders. Where the heck are the files???

HEY - all you people that keep viewing this and don't want to leave a comment......why? If you don't have an answer why are you viewing this?? This is a forum created to help those if needed right???

Maybe they didn't know they didn't have an answer until after they
viewed it. For instance I can't possibly know if I'll have an answer to
a question before I look at the question.

O.K., I don't know if I'll have an INTELLIGENT answer to a question
until after I've viewed it.

As for your question - my first guess would be that he's MOVING the
files instead of copying them.

Thanks for the reply but I know he isn't moving them because I COPIED the files and pasted them on the dvd to burn them...and then the folders stayed but the actual files disappeared.

Well I downloaded an un-delete program that managed to locate them all but more than half weren't in *good* condition and aren't viewable anymore...
