| | Network icon indicates disabled network I'm using Vista Business SP1. My network icon indicates that the network is either disabled or disconnected. I've read Knowledge base 928896 - I have checked that I am not logging in using the Guest account (it is disabled). I am logging in using the admin account. The network is in fact working. How can get the network icon to report accurately? |

If it's the icon for the hard wired connection and you only use the wireless, you can disable it. Right click on the icon Choose Network adn Sharing Center click Manage Network Connections (upper left) Right click on Local Area Connection (NOT your wireless connection) choose Disable from the right click menu You will need to re-enable it if you decide to use the hardwired connection some time. |
