| Vista Home Premium | Vista Connections does not see WiFi Adaptor I have an HP Pavilion TX2113cl laptop running Vista Home Premium, Service Pack 1. I replaced my G Router with an N Router. When I turned on my laptop, Vista shows that I was connected with limited access. I tried to create a new connection but it remained the same limited access. The WiFi setup has no security, just an SSID. I decided to uninstall the WiFi adaptor and re-install it again. Upon re-install of the Broadcom WiFi adaptor, Device Manager sees the WiFi adaptor but Vista Connections does not see the adaptor anymore. I got the latest driver from HP and installed that and Vista still does not see the Broadcom WiFi adaptor. I tried to uninstall and re-install many times and different ways with the same result. Vista now no longer sees the WiFi Adaptor in the Network Connections window but the Device Manager sees the WiFi Adaptor. How can I get Vista Connections to see the WiFi adaptor that the Device Manager sees? |

| | Re: Vista Connections does not see WiFi Adaptor Hi Take a close look to make sure that what you see in the Device manager is Not a Ghost. http://www.ezlan.net/faq.html#ghost The above pic is taken from WinXP Vista looks a little different but it is the same principle. | Vista Home Premium | Re: Vista Connections does not see WiFi Adaptor I checked, it is not a ghost. There is no yellow triangle or exclamation mark. The properties says this device is working properly and it is enabled. But Connections says it is DISABLED. I tried to ENABLE it and a window pops up that says Device is Enabled. But it remains DISABLED. So Device Manager says one thing and Vista Connections says something different. Is some registry entry out of wack or something? |
