| | Network icons. We have three computers here. One is a laptop with XP/3 (Mobile). One is a laptop with Vista/1 (Jean-PC). One is a desktop/tower with XP/3 (PETER). All three are on a wireless home network. All three can access the Internet and e-mail. In all three I want to share folders and files if possible. Also share printers but that is another issue right now. Currently each laptop computer (JEAN-PC and MOBILE) can "see" the other two but the desktop/tower (PETER) does not see MOBILE. Also, if I try to access Mobile from the Vista (JEAN-PC) I receive an error message; "Windows cannot access \\MOBILE. "Diagnose" does not reveal any network problems. Also if I try to access folders in PETER from JEAN-PC I receive the same error. I have tried changing the name of MOBILE to something different with no improvement. Right now I have changed the name back to MOBILE. Overall the problem appears to be the name MOBILE. However I have not tried all the possible combinations and more may show up. How can I resolve this name problem? Many thanks, Peter |

| | Re: Network icons. Try these: 1. Make sure you have assigned permission in Security tab. 2. It could be 3rd party security software. For troubleshooting, try clean boot. 3. Make sure you enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP. These search results may help too. Vista...is not accessibleVista...is not accessible.
