Internet Connection not working but network is..

I am having an issue getting on the internet. The NIC is fine and sees other
computers on the network.

My Config:

ASROCK Dual VSTA 775
E6300 Processor
2 GB Ram
Motorola Canopy Modem (acting as the router)
Dell Gigabyte Switch

Any methods to try to connect??? Disable IPv6??

Thanks

Re: Internet Connection not working but network is..

What subnet are you using? Many people are having problems with RC2 and
networks that use APIPA (169.254.x.x) addresses. The workaound is to change
the scope on your router. With the Motorola Canopy you may not be able to.
Talk to your ISP to see if they have a workaround and report this bug to
Microsoft. One possible workaround would be to use a second router.

Re: Internet Connection not working but network is..

Hi Kerry,

I have a similar problem, I can get to the network and log into my router
(netgear WGR614v4) all settings are as they were, I use static IP's to keep
my media player happy. Yet I too cannot get an outside link. Outlook 2003
does not access either.

My XP machines and my PDA connect happily.

Basic network settings are;

Router 192.168.X.1
PC 192.168.x.3
Sub net 255.255.255.0
gateway as per router
DNS server as per router.

Can you please give a little more detail as to your workaround suggestion?
